Then why not grow Carnations and Pinks and join the GNCS for just £4.
Benefits of being a member
Being a member of the GNCS can bring many benefits to anyone interested in Dianthus, our members are a mine of information on Carnations and Pinks. Included with your membership there is our well received yearbook, filled with information from the Carnation world, we try to include articles from renowned growers and hybridists.
We hold six meetings a year during Spring and Summer which are free of charge, members get together over a cup of tea or coffee and discuss their problems and triumphs, we also have slide shows and talks to help members improve their growing skills and knowledge.
We have a plant sale where members can purchase plants at a very reasonable rate and of course members are always to willing to help out new growers with plants.
We have also arranged a 10% discount from top Carnation nursery G&K Carnations. They attend some of the top Flower and vegetable shows such as Harrogate, Gardeners World, RHS Malvern to name a few.
Even though we are based in the North East of England we have members in the four British Isles and even a few across the world notably Australia and Canada.
We also hold three shows a year in association with Dobbies where members can exhibit their blooms or stems, included in all shows are Novice Classes where beginners are encouraged to show if they so wish.
We have members who will answer your questions regarding dianthus or any general gardening problem.
Cost of all this is only four pounds a year so why not take out a membership for a relative as a
Christmas or birthday treat, a great way to start the New Year.
We have had to make changes to our meeting days please go to Club News for details

We still have a few members who still owe 2019 subs

send your order to:-
D Price, 48 Brandlings Way, Peterlee, Co. Durham. SR8 5HG
Please note:
Cheques should be made payable to D Price
Please note the cost of the first DVD has also risen to £6.00 the reason for the rise is we have changed to better quality materials notably the blank dvd's this is to avoid a large number of copying failures
Details of both DVD's are on the membership page
Please note anyone who owes 2 years subscriptions will no longer receive a yearbook or correspondence from the society.
We deeply regret this action but as you will be aware second class postage is 54p with another possible 3p increase in April, charges like this are terrible for a small society like ours with a low subscription rate.
We could raise our subscription but feel it is our duty to keep subscription rates as low as possible.
Quite a number of members have not yet paid their subscriptions
Have you paid your 2018/19 subscription?
If you are not sure please contact me on 01915861141 and I will check for you. If I am not in please leave a message and I will get back to you or you can email me at dennis.price12@btinternet.com
Thank you
