Show Reports 2013 Border Championship Dobbies Ponteland 20th July

The day got off to a very damp start but stayed quite warm with overcast skies. We had 15 exhibitors a great improvement on last weeks show, as I walked around I could see our efforts to increase our border exhibitors had at last paid off. We had nine entries for the Championship Class. We have never had any where near that many entries in previous shows.
The championship went to Paul Harmer his first year at exhibiting borders a fantstic feat. It was a very close call Keith Mastaglio ran him a close second. Best vase of three blooms went to Keith for the vase of 3 Belle of Bookham
Brian Duffy won Best Vase of P/FS with a fine vase of nine Crompton Princess, which also won Best Vase in Show. Brian also won Best Bloom with the same vase.
Fay Seagrave won Best Vase of Pinks with a very nice vase of Sutton Brierly Grace and Fay also won Best Stem with the same cultivar.
