P/F Championship Winner for 2019 is once again "Bill Seagrave".
Being a member of the GNCS can bring many benefits to anyone interested in Dianthus, our members are a mine of information on Carnations and Pinks. Included with your membership there is our well received yearbook, filled with information from the Carnation world, we try to include articles from renowned growers and hybridists.
We hold six meetings a year during Spring and Summer which are free of charge, members get together over a cup of tea or coffee and discuss their problems and triumphs, we also have slide shows and talks to help members improve their growing skills and knowledge.
We also hold three shows a year in association with Dobbies where members can exhibit their blooms or stems, included in all shows are Novice Classes where beginners are encouraged to show if they so wish.

We are intending to complete a range of short video clips these will eventually cover growing, propagating and showing carnations and pinks. Our first clip is on taking PF cuttings and can be located on the tips for novices page. Or use There is no sound to this clip but we intend to add sound when needed.
Your feedback is essential on these clips so we will know if they are of any use to members, please send your feedback to me [email protected] or through the contact page on this website

Now that most restrictions have been lifted we are pleased to announce our August meeting will go ahead, it will be held in our usual venue on Wednesday the 4th of August at 7.00pm I would ask members not to arrive too early unless your transport prevents this. Your safety is still our paramount concern and we will watch government directives for further advice. Please look at this webpage regularly for updates. We hope to hold our belated AGM and afterwards a discussion on the current situation and Carnations and Pinks in general.
